Background
It is a project that originates from a personal event: a six-months period spent in 2004 by a doctor from Bergamo, Mirco Nacoti, member of Sguazzi, with "Doctors without Borders" just in Man Hospital.
Sguazzi seeks for efficient solutions with the aim to reduce environmental and social barriers that limit people participation, taking inspiration from health and disability "ICF" classification, officially aproved by 191 members of Wordl health Organization in 2001.
In order to overcome scientific and technologic isolation reported by the medical staff of Man hospital, it arose the idea to build a medical-scientific library with access to books and to Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
A local group of doctors and nurses trusted this possibility to invent the future and became association ACIM: "Association Culturelle Informatique et Médicale".
Raffaella Gentilini works in Man Hospital as professionale nurse of "Doctors without Borders in 2004"; she believes in the project, becomes member of Sguazzi and crucial link with ACIM.
Enrico Colpani and Matteo Finassi, members of Sguazzi, organize the first fund raising and shipment of PCs and books in a red box during the war. The library opens September 1st, 2004.
